*After bookings are paid for and confirmed, a confirmation email will be sent to the email used to book. We ask that all renters and drivers read the entire email before arrival and departure from the dock. Please note cancellations at any time cannot be made via email, and some may incur a cancellation fee, or not be eligible for a refund.*

FAQ

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancelations are “no questions asked” until 9:00 AM seven (7) days before the rental. We give full refunds if the weather does not allow for safe rentals, but this does not include cloudy weather, wind or light rain.
Do I need a license to drive the boat?
Yes, as of January 2025, Briana’s Law is in effect. All operators must have a valid NYS Boating Certificate. This takes about 6 hours to obtain online, or a captain may be scheduled via the confirmation email sent after you book. Mickey’s Marina does not check validity of drivers, this is at your own discretion and drivers assume all risk of damage, injury and fines if operating without a license. Can we rent half day or hourly?
No. We do one rental per boat, per day. You can take the boat for any amount of time between the 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM window and come and go as you please.
Can we tube, water, wakeboard behind the boats?
No. In New York, on lakes of this size, rental boats are not permitted to tow anything behind the boat. Additionally, these are small engine pontoon boats that are not made for this type of activity.
Are captains available to drive the boat?
Yes. After checkout you will be given a list of captains’ names and numbers in a confirmation email.
Are life jackets provided?
Yes. Standard adult size life jackets are provided, but if you have any special sizing needs for life jackets you must bring your own.
What is included in the rental?
We include the boat, fuel, adult life jackets, a cooler and some garbage bags. Things that guests are typically told to bring are ice, sunscreen, a Bluetooth speaker, eating utensils, special sized life jackets and towels.
How do we pick up the boat?
Pick up is contactless and fully explained in the confirmation email. You will not meet anyone on site.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, dogs are allowed. They cannot go on the seats and please pick up after them if they go to the bathroom. A $250 charge will be added to the card for any party that leaves behind a mess from an animal.
Are food, beverages and alcohol allowed on the boats?
Yes. However, drivers cannot be intoxicated, and no small cooking appliances are permitted on board. Please clean up all food, cans, bottles, wrappers and anything else from your food and beverage.
Are all the boats the same?
No, not all boats are the same. There are three “standard” boats that are mostly the same, with little difference and all in the same class of size and options. There is also one Double Decker boat that is considered our higher end option.
Can we rent for multiple days?
Yes. You must book them individually, but you may take them for more than one day. If you plan to rent for more than three days, or wish to keep the boat overnight, please email Mickeysmarina@gmail.com
Is gas included?
Yes.
How fast are the boats?
Fast enough. And if you are asking this question, it may be better not to rent. This is a small lake, and these boats are meant for slow cruising and hanging out in the swimming coves.

Double Decker Pontoon

Our double-decker pontoon rental is equipped with seating for 15 passengers and of course, the second-level deck with WATER SLIDE! There is no other boat like this available on Copake Lake. It's perfect for young kids, a group of adults, wedding parties and everyone else looking to have fun!

We also have two pontoon boats that hold up to 12 people and are great for cruising around the lake or anchoring for a swim.

Maybe you’re looking for a workout, something relaxing, or just don’t need everything a motorized boat offers. Rent one of our new kayaks, paddle boards, or canoes by the hour for an enjoyable lake adventure.

Captains

If you need a captain, you must book and pay them separately. We do not employ any captains and only provide their contact info. If you are unfamiliar with driving a boat, or plan to drink alcohol, we highly recommend this.
